Population gravity centre analysis, 1991-2001

Caption: The pattern of population distribution in Tasmania appears to have shifted marginally. Shifts in the gravity centre provide a measure of change in population distribution and concentration. The results indicate a shift to the south-east in the gravity centre of the Tasmanian population. These results are supported by the general population trends outlined in the analysis of urban centres and localities showing relative population growth in the east and south-east of the State.
